INSYS Microelectronics i-module Bluetooth

Introduction

The i-modul Bluetooth connects devices with a serial asynchronous interface to a Bluetooth network. It establishes a connection to other devices in the environment autonomously.

The i-modul Bluetooth may replace a serial cable by a radio link: this is the solution for all problems with mechanically stressed connectors and sliding contacts and it avoids costly or hampering cabling.

The i-modul Bluetooth is a full Bluetooth application that may be integrated by a serial interface easily into customer applications.

Applications Examples

The i-modul Bluetooth can automatically establish a connection to known partner which lets the radio link behave like a serial cable. It may on the other scan its environment for other active Bluetooth devices and address them directly by AT commands as known from modems. Thus connections to several devices may be subsequently established, e.g. to query data from different measurements.

Radio Range

The i-modul Bluetooth is available with different radio power:

• Power Class 1 covers a radio range of up to 100m
• Power Class 2 covers a radio range of up to 15m.
