Introduction

The M16 is an analog data acquisition M-Module™ with four differential inputs and a resolution of 12 bits. The analog part is optically isolated from the system.

All four channels can be sampled simultaneously with a sampling frequency of up to 28kHz. Complete signal conditioning is accommodated directly on the M16 and is controlled through software (AC/DC, voltage range). The input circuit, filtering and gain parameters can be set for all channels. Switched capacitor filters form an adjustable anti-aliasing filter. This way the filter frequency can be adapted perfectly and dynamically to the sampling frequency. The use of SC filters guarantees a maximum signal bandwidth at a given sampling frequency.

The M16 is based on the M-Module™ ANSI mezzanine standard. It can be used as an I/O extension in any type of bus system, i.e. CPCI, VME or on any type of stand-alone SBC. Appropriate M-Module™ carrier cards in 3U, 6U and other formats are available from MEN or other manufacturers.
