Introduction

This 4U CompactPCI® basic system is a rugged 19" rackmount enclosure. Being an extremely compact subrack in terms of overall size and depth, it has eight vertical slots for 3U Eurocards. The system slot is located to the right, with space to use a 4HP system master CPU plus a 4 or 8 HP I/O extension board placed to the right of the CPU board.

The CompactPCI® system gives just the flexibility you need to set up an embedded solution that meets your application needs, e.g. with a high-end CPU board and several mezzanine carrier boards for I/O extension. For optimum convenience the system is prepared for essential mass storage media: the 3U bay can accommodate a 3.5" hard disk drive and a floppy disk drive, all available from MEN. A 300W ATX wide-range (100..240VAC) power supply unit which is accessible from the front of the system is already included and wired.

The enclosure meets EMC requirements, making it a perfect choice for embedded applications in rough environments.
