Introduction

D2420 Front ViewThe D2420 was a system designed for a customer with military spec connectors, similar to the D2420. It contained a Kontron MOPSlcdVE (now EOL) CPU board, a Trimble Lassen SQ GPS module on a custom carrier, a D2406 compact flash card board and a Tri-M HE-104 power supply unit. The whole unit was encased in a Tri-M CanTainer.

The system is completely fanless, and had Windows 2000 installed. It brought the USB, RS-232 and Ethernet interfaces to the outside via mil spec connectors.

All design work was done in house including the rather arduous task of making the connecting cables for the hundreds of wires required by the specification.
