Introduction

Kontron Starterkit ETXexpress™ PM370ETXexpress is the Module concept of the new open Standard COM Express (by PICMG). The ETXexpress Starterkit is designed to give you a head start. In the Starterkit you will find an ETXexpress Evaluation board to provide an easy connection to the ETXexpress module, switchable (115V-/230V) power supply, ETXexpress-PM module with the heatspreader and a DDR2 SODIMM memory module. The ETXexpress Evaluation board is an ATX motherboard, which fulfills all user requirements. The Evalboard offers the new interfaces PCI Express x1 Lane, PCI Express Graphics 1x16 Lane and SerialATA. It also supports typical interfaces like VGA port, parallel port, serial port, PS2, Ethernet RJ45 port and two additional USB 2.0 ports. As a special, the board offers a standardized FFC connector for LVDS panels, simple „plug and work“. The absolute highlight is the scaleable processor performance. Due to four defined high count plugs it is possible to work with different processor modules. The expensive replacement of the whole motherboard is obsolete and makes upgrading to an easy-to-deal-withpassion. With this complete package you'll find all the necessary components to immediately start the evaluation process. This will lead to quicker application development, which will shorten your overall time to market.
