Introduction

Diamond Point International has announced a range of rugged solid-state Flash drives from Memtech, which are designed for volume users in harsh industrial, scientific, networking, gaming, transportation and military environments where the utmost reliability is demanded. The drives are ideally suited to the fast growing entry-level, low cost Thin Client and Kiosk market segments.

Solid-state Flash drives emulate and are pin-compatible with hard disk drives, providing ease of interchangeability when converting from one medium to another.

The AT2515 and AT3515 Bulldog drives are low cost, entry-level 2.5" and 3.5" form-factor devices offering 128MB to 1GB memory capacity and featuring advanced Kicker™ hold up circuitry and ECC (Error Checking and Correction) data protection.

Offering 72-bit ECC for exceptional data reliability, PIO (Programmed Input/Output) mode-4 and DMA (Direct Memory Access) mode-2 support, the drives are capable of operation at a sustained read and write throughput of 6MB/sec.

These state-of-the-art Flash drives from Diamond Point are pressure and moisture resistant and are capable of withstanding 2000G operating shock and 20G operating vibration. They are available in three temperature ranges; commercial 0oC to +70oC, extended -25oC to +75oC and industrial -40oC to +85oC.

The drives offer low power consumption operating from a 5V supply and are protected against power loss. All drives are subjected to a rigorous five-step EnduroTest process and provide ten-year data integrity. They are backed by a lifetime guarantee and an eight-year warranty.

The AT2515 2.5'' drive comes with a standard 44-pin 2 mm IDE interface and the AT3515 3.5''drive is supplied with a standard 40-pin unitized IDE interface.

AT2515 and AT3515 Bulldog solid-state Flash drives are now available from Diamond Point in volume quantities.
