Introduction

The STEC MACH2 family is a new platform of solid state drives offered in different form factor and interface. All the MACH2 Solid State Drive are equipped with an extremely fast and cost optimized Multi channel controller capable of doubling the performance of flash components.

The MACH2 Solid State Drive are specifically designed for applications requiring the similar performance of traditional rotating HDD combined with the tremendous advantage typical of Solid State Drive.

The MACH2 Solid State Drive is the best solution to replace low capacity rotating HDD. Systems requiring up to 32GB of storage will benefit from the lower total cost of ownership and the extraordinary overall reliability improvement.

EXCELLENT ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIFICATION
Since the MACH2 SSD has no moving parts inside, it can withstand extreme environmental conditions such as 1000G shock, 15G vibrations and 85% humidity.

ZERO LATENCY AND SEEK TIME
Traditional HDD suffer of high rotational latency (the time needed for the correct sector to come around to where the read/write heads are located) and seek time (the amount of time required for the read/write heads to move between tracks over the surfaces of the platters). On Solid State Disk there are neither heads nor platters. As such the data are immediately available.

IMPROVED RELIABILITY
The MTBF of the MACH2 family is 2,000,000 hours, four to five times more than traditional rotating HDD.

LOW POWER CONSUMPTION
The MACH2 Solid State Drive consumes one order of magnitude less than traditional HDD when the drive is operated and two orders of magnitude in idle state. The tremendous power saving makes the Solid State Drive an ideal solution for battery-powered device. Less power consumption also means less heat and as such the MACH2 Solid State Drive doesn't require a fan.
